Louise Thayer – Program & Clinic Registration

Louise has been closely involved with horses for almost 40 years. She grew up riding from the age of six with her twin sister in the UK. Louise gratefully thanks the many patient ponies of her youth for setting her on this rich and fulfilling path. She first became part of the Happy Dog Ranch team in 2012 after being told by mentor Mark Rashid that the energy of HDR might suit her.

Her career has included managing a dude ranch in Texas and a boarding facility for the Marine Corps in the Mojave Desert, and almost 10 years of traveling the country to train bird dogs and gaited field trial horses. Louise’s dedication to the welfare of field trial horses led her to establish the Field Trial Horse Foundation, which has found its home at Jarre Creek Ranch where Happy Dog Ranch operates. She is a decade-long student of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with teachers Ryan Hallford and Shea Stewart, and incorporates the methods of Jim Masterson and Linda Tellington in her own bodywork practice.

Louise will be your first point of contact when you book clinics and workshops at Happy Dog Ranch. She is happiest sitting on a fence, watching the herd relax in their serene new home.
